With over 20 years of experience working with affluent individuals and family offices, Greg has developed an expertise in a wide variety of financial services including investment management, asset allocation, tax and estate planning, philanthropy, and family governance.
Prior to forming Rootstock Wealth Advisors in 2013, Greg served as Managing Director for BNY Mellon in their Family Wealth Practice advising many of the wealthiest families in the country. He was employed at BNY Mellon for 14 years advising clients on custom investment management solutions, advanced asset allocation, and unique investment opportunities. Greg also advised on the use of financial, tax, estate planning, and asset allocation techniques to solve clients' complex financial needs.
From the mid to late 1990's, Greg served as Vice President and Director for Sterling, Ltd, a division of National City Bank. In Greg's role at Sterling, he was responsible for managing the ultra high net worth planning division for Western Pennsylvania delivering fee based tax and financial advisory services to senior executives of public companies, family businesses, and individuals with significant wealth. It was this role that Greg developed the deep planning knowledge to complement his investment background.
Greg received his MBA with honors from the Tepper Business School at Carnegie Mellon University and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Clarion University. He also received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1997 and is a member of the CFA Institute.
Jim Blue joined Rootstock Wealth Advisors in 2014 as a Senior Director. In addition to working with clients, Jim focuses on new business opportunities and compliance responsibilities.
Jim has spent nine years in the wealth management industry including eight years at BNY Mellon where he was a portfolio officer overseeing approximately $250 million for high net worth families. His responsibilities included asset allocation implementation, financing solutions and performance analysis.
Jim was a finance major and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a CFP® professional and completed the Executive Certificate in Financial Planning at Duquesne University. He is also active in the community and is on the board of The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership.
John Stubbs joined Rootstock Wealth Advisors in 2017 as a Senior Director. John has been in the wealth advisory business for over 30 years and has an expertise in trust administration as well as experience in investment oversight, tax planning and estate planning and settlement. His background and years of experience enables him to coordinate the Firm’s Family Office Services. He has a proven track record of providing a high level of client service.
Previously, John was a Vice President with BNY Mellon Wealth Management where he managed relationships for ultra-high net worth clients. He was the senior trust administrator in the Pittsburgh region and served on the Trust Administrative and Account Review Committees. He is a CFP® professional and received an undergraduate degree in Business Economics from The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown
